Breathing For Fall

Fall is in the air! How are you taking care of yourself this fall? As new winds blow in, it's time to take care of the LUNGS! The lungs need lots of loving care in the fall. The easiest and most affordable care you can do for your lungs this fall is BREATHE. Deep breathing will keep circulation nice and oxygenated. Focus on 30 deep breaths at least twice a day or 3 deep breaths every hour. Lack of oxygenation to the lungs in the fall/winter season can lead to depressive states, feelings of sadness and loneliness. With proper breathing, we will feel fully energized and serotonin (feel good hormone) levels can cultivate in the brain all season long. Furthermore, its now time for warming foods. As temperatures begin to cool, we can skip the raw salads and cold ice teas. Now is the time to support the large intestine with warming foods. Bring out the slow cookers and large pots! Vegetable stews and slow cooked roast with organic herbs are perfect for this season and aiding digestion. End your evenings with a warm cup of chamomile, peppermint, or turmeric tea.
Remember your bodies innate immunity is the best immunity. Fuel your immune system with plenty of natural foods that your spleen (responsible for lymph and immune cells) loves!
