Nourish Your Nervous System
Cbd oil is finally growing in popularity in Texas. The compound CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of 113 identified cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa. Hemp strains very low in THC (psychoactive compound that gets one high) and high in CBD are growing throughout the country like the weed that it is. Unlike cannabis strains, with high THC content, CBD is extracted from cannabis strains low in THC (>.3%) and it is perfectly safe and legal with proper dosing. We are now finding many companies extracting CBD content from the cannabis flower and putting it into an oil tincture or capsules. But why?
The endocannabinoid (ECS) system was recently discovered in 1992. It is expressed within the nervous system as lipid-based receptor sites. It is involved in regulating many different processes throughout the entire body. Processes such as fertility, memory, pain, mood, motor skills, immunity, GI Health, and regulating appetite. When we increase our consumption of phytocannabinoids, our receptor sites in the fatty tissues of our brain, hearts, kidneys, liver, and uterus/ testes can come into balance. Therefore consuming phytocannabinoids today can enhance our immunity from the toxic environment around us. The following plants contain beneficial phytocannabinoids.... - Cannabis – CBD (CB1 & CB2) - Liverwort (CB1) - Black Pepper - Cacao Powder - Black Truffle (CB1) - Kava (CB1) - Cruciferous vegetables (DIM) - Echinacea (CB2) CBD (cannabidiol) is a compound found in hemp leaves & flowers. CBD extracted from cannabis has grown in popularity due to its ability to nourish BOTH CB1 & CB2 receptors sites. CB1 receptors are found in abundance in the Central Nervous System- brain, spinal cord, and cerebellum. CB2 receptors are highly concentrated in the peripheral organs (heart, lungs, liver, kidneys) The central nervous system and peripheral nervous system are responsible for reactions and communication pathways throughout the body. That being said, if we can bring balance to our nervous systems many uncomfortable symptoms can be controlled. CBD is truly a power natural substance. Already within my practice, I am seeing amazing results with clients using CBD. From pain elimination, mood regulation, and insomnia, CBD is a proven powerful botanical. Trusted CBD products can be purchased in the office or online (tinctures, capsules, topicals). *Many CBD companies (like most supplements) have little to no regulation. Therefore, when purchasing CBD, ask to view the batch Test Results to be sure you are getting the actually CBD compound along with other phytocannabinoids (full spectrum). Trusted companies are testing every batch of oil to provide consistency and assurance that their oil does indeed contain the fat -soluble hemp compounds. *Note: Hemp Seed Oil has always been legal in USA. Hemp seed oil does not contain CBD. It is an OIL extracted from the seeds for the omega 3 & 6 fatty acid that can be found at most health food stores. CBD is extracted from the hemp flower and can be found with a CBD retailer or with a trusted health professional. They are two very different things. Always read the ingredients and look for Hemp Extract to be sure you are getting the real thing.
